Crying It Out

Josh and I just decided, yesterday, to start letting Rex cry when it's time for naps/bed instead of rocking him to sleep. He has turned into quite the night owl, staying awake until midnight, sometimes later. We cannot do it anymore, we need to get some sleep. So far, he is doing okay learning how to soothe himself to sleep by "crying it out", but it's breaking my heart. Any advice?

Keep doing it, it is the hardest thing in the world to hear your baby crying, but it is so worth it later. Our baby sleeps amazing now, the most important thing is to try and keep him on a schedule, make sure he goes to bed at the same time every night and eventually he will get there. It might not feel like it right now, but he will.

stick with it. There is nothing more I believe in with kids than sticking to your guns. It will be so worth it, I swear.

Keep doing it, you will be so happy you did! We were really good at letting Carson cry it out but then with Jackson we weren't so good at it and now we are still paying for it. It's hard to get Jacks down at night. Hope it doesn't take too long for Rex to get it figured out.

Just stick with it. Cohen is 13 months now and still wakes up and we just make him cry. I haven't gotten him in a long time so I don't know when he will learn-but they do! I love your picture !

I just wanted to tell you that I love the picture you have on your main page of you and josh. Probably one of my favourite! and, no suggestions about babies because I don't have any :) haha

Don't give in!! I promise it will be worth it in the end. Its awful hearing him cry but he will get used to it. We went through this just a few months ago and Im so glad Nick made me stick it out. P.S. Turn off the monitor!

Try the book, The No Cry Sleep Solution (just ignore the part about no crying). I have used it with all 3 kids. Our sleep schedule: Hiram (3) - 7pm-8am; Olivia (1) - 12pm-3pm & 6pm-8am; Bailey (5 weeks) - 8pm-11pm, 12am-3am, 5am-9am, 11am-2pm, 4pm-6pm. The more you have the more valuable your personal time becomes!
