May was probably the craziest month I've ever experienced. I had planned to blog about each event in may (starting with the LDS beach trip) but I found it overwhelming, and decided to consolidate it all into one BIG post. Here is a little peek inside our crazy May.
May 3-10 - LDS beach week with 7 other families (see last post).
May 10 - We return from the beach and my parents and Josh's parents, sister and brother arrive in Durham for baby blessing/graduation weekend.
May 11 - Evelyn's baby blessing. Since Josh's graduation ceremony was going to be during church we got permission to bless Evelyn at our home. It was really special to have our families and a few close friends to share the night with us. Here are a few pictures:

May 12-13 Josh's Gratuation from Duke University!!! We had ceremonies to attend on both Saturday and Sunday. We went out to dinner on Saturday night to celebrate. It was such a fun weekend, celebrating Josh and all the hard work he put into getting his MBA.
And yes, that guy standing on his chair, arms outstretched is my awesome husband!
May 13-20 - And what better way to celebrate a graduation from Duke than with another beach trip to the Outer Banks with Josh's family. We had such a great time despite mediocre weather.
Trip to the NC Aquarium
The Wright Brother's Museum
Since Evelyn had her special blessing day, and Daddy had his special graduation day, then there was Mother's day...Rex was feeling a little left out. Grandma Garner made sure Rex had a special day at the beach house. He was showered with little gifts and we had cupcakes. He loved it.
Lots of sweatshirt sunbathing. It was kinda chilly.
Also lots of time spent in the hot tub. Thank goodness for hot tubs.
May 21 - Literally the morning after returning from the beach we head up to Richmond, VA to close on the house we purchased! Happy, crazy day!
Then we spent the next 6 days buying a refrigerator, washer/dryer, deciding on paint colors, hiring a painter, having the entire main floor painted and all the carpets cleaned to prepare for our arrival. Our Durham house was packed on the 29th and we were moving on the 30th.
On the 31st our moving van arrived and all our stuff was unloaded (and bonus - we loved the paint colors we chose, phew!) Seriously, the...craziest...month...ever. We took a big, deep breath and 5 days later my parents came to Richmond for a short visit before the Alger family trip back to the Outer Banks (post to come).
Despite the craziness, it was such an amazing month. Lots of big changes and mixed emotions, but it's time for the next phase of our life and I have a good feeling about this new place.
