The face only a mother could love

This is our dog, Harley. He is not photogenic. Not that dogs are supposed to be, but he's especially awkward looking in most photos we take of him.

I just found this picture last night (we took it about a week ago) and I laughed so hard that tears were rolling down my face. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

He's all grown up

I've been thinking it for months, but now that the time is finally here...I cannot believe my little brother is getting married! He met the girl of his dreams and they will be married in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple this Friday. I've been reflecting a little bit and it has brought up so many good memories of what it was like to grow up only 20 months apart. I have three older sisters, but they are much older than us. Andrew and I have always been the closest.

Andrew has always been the sweetest, most easy going kid I've ever met. He was one of the hardest kids to pick a fight with, but believe me...I tried my best. During one of these "fights" my mom got fed up and told Andrew that if I hit him, he could hit me back. He couldn't do it-even when given permission by mom. He never speaks unkindly of anyone and is very accepting of others.

I know he is going to be a wonderful husband to Haley and she is very lucky to have found him!

Something's brewing in the Garner home...

This post is long overdue. I get writer's block, ya know. This whole blogging thing is so much pressure. But here goes...drum roll please. Yes, I'm here to confirm the rumors...we are pregnant!

We are having a boy! So as you can imagine, I (Josh) am feeling a great and overwhelming sense of manly pride at this moment. No, we haven't picked a name and no we wouldn't tell you if we did for fear you would either love it and steal it or hate it and ruin it for us by telling us some sad story about a loser kid you grew up next to that stunk up your neighborhood. We all have or have had those kids in our lives. But fear not, the chosen name will be awesome and sound totally manly.

We are very excited and feel very blessed. Emily certainly has had to endure more than I have (understatement), although her complaining is ... uhh, nevermind. She was sick for a good majority of the first 4 months, so not fun. But she's feeling better now. She has a cute little baby belly and I've even had the privilege of feeling the little guy do sumersaults and backflips by putting my hand on her belly. He's a pretty active kid right now.

Congratulations, Josh!

I would like to take a second to brag about my husband! A couple weekends ago we went to St. George so Josh and his good buddy, Benson Metcalf, could compete in a triathlon they have been training for since January. All those mornings he got up at 5:30 and went to the gym paid off! He did great and it made me very proud that he worked so hard to get into shape so he could be competitive.

Now they are doubling their distances in preparation for the Provo Triathlon on June 21st!
