Grandma Alger

 Wanda Stephens Alger
June 25, 1916 - December 20, 2010

Since this blog is my journal of sorts, I wanted to pay tribute to my grandma who passed away on December 20th at the ripe old age of 94.  I don't want this to be a sad post because she would hate that.  In fact, she asked for no obituary, no open casket, no funeral service period.  She hated anyone fussing over her, so I won't do too much of that.

She was the wittiest, spunkiest little old lady ever.  I have so many funny memories with her and at her home on the banks of the Provo river.  I'm so grateful she was able to live alone until the very end and be independent.  It was very important to her.  I'm glad she was able to meet my first child, Rex, and they had a special little relationship.

I'm also grateful that our family is united eternally and I will see her again.  Love you, Grandma!

Em-I have a 92 year old grandma sort of how yours was like- She is healthy and happy living on her own and still has the sharpest memory. When she passes I'll be sad for selfish reasons, but I know she will be happy to be with her siblings/husband/family.She can't wait to pass away and already has a gravestone, plot, and program laid out for her funeral. She even made us go around her house putting masking tape w/ our name on things we wanted when she passed!!Isn't it amazing to have had such wonderful ladies in our lives? They are so full of knowledge and teachings.I'm sorry for your loss because they are so fun to have around.
